After graduating from Indiana University, I embarked on an internship as a social media intern with the Tampa Bay Rays for the 2023 season. I am now back with the Rays as a Social Media Specialist. Throughout my time with the Rays, I actively applied effective social media strategies across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok, on the various Rays social media accounts.
One of my responsibilities included overseeing the activity and engagement of our mascot's Twitter account, @RaysRaymond. In addition, I played a significant role in the creation of Raymond’s Instagram account. I actively contributed to devising our Instagram strategy, which significantly increased Raymond’s traction and reach a new audience on his Instagram account. I also worked on gathering valuable information and established communication with local social media influencers, extending invitations for them to attend home games. This strategic approach aimed to expand our reach within a younger demographic of baseball enthusiasts.
To ensure the success of our social media efforts, I helped analyze and track analytics across our platforms, evaluating the impact of our content. Through my internship with the Rays, I shared engaging posts, sharing photos, graphics, and videos, as well as publishing Instagram stories, Instagram reels, YouTube videos, TikTok videos, and tweets on the Rays accounts.
